“I especially liked the organic process of development that is captured in the ("Beyond the Sixth") video. Also, the amazing design elements that are present in the quilt - the composition reflecting the entirety of the experience, from the whirling hurricane to the dispersal of people - the houses becoming arrows pointing in all directions. I have a master's degree in art therapy and we spent long hours pouring over images and creations, carefully extracting the symbolic and compositional meanings contained therein, while being careful not to project our own meanings. Art is an amazing communicator. You are an amazing artist.”

What a profound gift it was for me to explore your site and watch videos of your quilts, read your stories, and really feel the love and love of life that emanates from your being. Even over the internet. Wowie.

“When I first saw "Pieces of Gratitude" spread out on my porch swing … I was amazed.  I fell to my knees and felt my way through it.  The wave of emotion was nearly unbearable.  I cried. I cried alone with a bursting heart surrounded by this priceless gift.  It was a good long appreciation cry.  I will never be able to thank (you) enough.”

“Michigan Dreams" is everything I wanted, and more than I dreamed it would be, all at the same time. The secret pocket for wishes on the back, and knowing there are more thoughts hidden within the seams, are my favorite aspects of the quilt. Visually, I love the night sky with the stars peeking through the branches of the oak tree the most. My girlfriend's favorite part is the audience fabric and the pink fuzzy outline threadwork. The frog on leather is ...appropriate. And subtle as they seem to one who has looked at it for a while, the chocolate women are what everyone comments on first.

I have hung it in my large dining room so that everyone who visits can enjoy it with me. It will be present for every dinner party and house concert, and I'm sure that it will be a topic of interesting conversation for years to come. Everyone who sees it asks about the images, and I tell them about [The Michigan Womyn’s Music] Festival, and what it means to me, and how it is a special place where I have met the most amazing people... So you've managed to capture the energy and the feeling of festival perfectly, and that, sweet woman, is the thing that stops me in my tracks, every time I look at this quilt.”

 --Lee, IL

“Wow. Just... wow. I've been …looking at all of the images and the stories and feelings behind the quilts... and reading through your blog and just... wow. I'm sitting here with tears welled up in my eyes, I'm at work, and I don't care. I had no idea you were so creative and not only that but that everything you create has such deep meaning and purpose for you. No wonder you are so full of energy and life! Even in your darkest times, you have always exuded beauty and love. I want to be like you.”

 --Stacy, CA

I always take home something with me that I learned after reading your words.  Thank you!”
